Westfield/Brocton to meet Dunkirk for Champions Cup title

DUNKIRK -- Parker Gambino netted a hat trick to lead Westfield/Brocton past Olean 5-0 in the opening game of the Dunkirk Champions Cup on Thursday at Karl Hoeppner Field.

Braylon Swanson had a goal and three assists, Caleb Stoughton had a goal and Landon Vandevelde had an assist for the Wolverines. Noah Tuah stood out defensively.

Dunkirk scored all six of its goals in the first half en route to a 6-0 shutout of Pine Valley/Gowanda in the second game.

Anniel Medina Vega opened the scoring from Brady Dobek in the fifth minute before Roan Porpiglia made it 2-0 from Jaryel Vazquez in the 15th minute for the Marauders. Erick Millan followed with a goal from Dobek in the 17th minute. Dobek then scored unassisted and followed with another goal from Lucas Felt to make it 5-0. Millan scored the final goal in the 31st minute.

Westfield/Brocton will take on host Dunkirk in Saturday's championship game.

The Huskies will take on Pine Valley/Gowanda in Saturday's consolation game.
