WEST ELLICOTT -- Southwestern/Frewsburg turned three second-half turnovers by Fredonia into touchdowns and picked up its first win of the season, 36-7 over the Hillbillies in Class C South football Friday at Charles A. Lawson Field.
After the Trojans' Carter Casselman recovered a fumble near the end of the third quarter, Joey Sirianni caught a 34-yard touchdown pass from Drake Beckstrom early in the final period to make it 22-7 after a Miles Torres 2-point conversion run.
Then, after Torres' second interception of the game, Connor Campion ran 62 yards for Southwestern/Frewsburg's final score of the game, making it a 23-point lead after another Torres conversion run.
The Hillbillies (3-2, 2-2) later muffed a punt that was recovered by Torres at the 6-yard line. Three players later, after the Trojans (1-4, 1-3) were backed up by a penalty, Torres ran for a 21-yard touchdown.

LANCASTER DOWNS JAMESTOWN
LANCASTER -- Running back Justin Teubner rushed for two touchdowns and quarterback Everett Fix ran for one and passed for another to lead Lancaster to a 28-7 victory over Jamestown in a Class AA football game at Foyle-Kling Field.
The Legends (4-1, 3-1), who led 21-0 at halftime, let their defense do the rest as they limited the Red & Green (2-3, 1-3) to 46 yards before the break, picked off two passes and recovered a fumble.
Teubner's TDs came on a pair of 28-yard bursts -- one in the first quarter and the other with under five minutes remaining in the second quarter -- and Fix connected with Ryan Hartwig on a 36-yard scoring strike in the final seconds before intermission.
Staked to a three-touchdown lead, Lancaster breezed to the victory, a week after downing Lockport 48-21.
Teubner finished with 77 yards on nine carries and Fix displayed his multi-threat capabilities by gaining more than 120 yards on the ground. Defensively, Cole Klinger and Liam Ahearn both intercepted a pass, and Ahearn had a long kickoff return to begin the second half that set up Fix's 3-yard TD run.
Yards were hard to come by for Jamestown most of the game, but it did break up the shutout bid when quarterback Jackson Grey connected with Karson Milne on a 22-yard touchdown pass in the third quarter. Beckett Lumia's point-after kick was good, but the Red & Green didn't find the end zone again.
Defensively, Jamestown's Mason Crawford intercepted a pass, Kalun Hodgkin recovered a fumble and the Red & Green forced two turnovers on downs, but it wasn't enough to overcome the Legends' stingy defense.
Jamestown is back in action a week from today when it travels to Lockport.
