Swabik begins decathlon at nationals

EUGENE, Ore. — Through four events in the decathlon at the NCAA Track & Field Championships, Sherman native John Swabik is in 21st place. The Kansas senior scored 3,002 points after completing the 100 meters, the long jump, the shot put and the high jump, trailing leader Ben Barton of Brigham Young University, who stands at 3,468. WARREN, Pa. — The reigning club champion golfers from The Post-Journal, OBSERVER and Times Observer coverage area will tee off on Sunday in the 36th Jim Riggs Memorial Champions at Conewango Valley Country Club.
