Chautauqua Lake softball gets past Forestville 7-3

MAYVILLE — Despite having just four hits in the game, Chautauqua Lake came from behind to beat Forestville 7-3 in a matchup of defending Section VI softball champions Friday. The Hornets — defending Class D champions — led 2-1 entering the bottom of the fifth inning before the Eagles — last year’s Class C title winners — scored two runs to take a 3-2 lead. LAKEWOOD — The bad weather didn’t stop the Fredonia boys tennis team and neither did Maple Grove as the Hillbillies began Chautauqua-Cattaraugus Athletic Association Division 1 action with a 3-2 victory at the Lakewood YMCA on Thursday.
