Deputies responded to a personal injury motor vehicle accident in the town of Portland early Saturday morning, at roughly 2:36 a.m. Upon arrival, deputies located a tractor trailer off the roadway. Through investigation, it was found that Larry Blood allegedly fell asleep while driving, exiting the roadway, striking a utility pole and then a tree where the tractor trailer came to rest. Blood was transported to Westfield Memorial Hospital by Alstar Ambulance for injuries. Blood was issued a traffic ticket for failure to keep right and will answer the charge in the Town of Portland Court.
