Forestville woman facing weapon charges
VILLENOVA — A Forestville woman is facing numerous charges, including possession of a weapon following an incident early Saturday morning.
Deputies were called to a location in the town of Villenova for report of a disorderly subject. Upon further investigation, deputies determined that Sharlene Downey, 27, of Forestville, allegedly attempted to stab another individual on multiple occasions with a sharp object. Downey proceeded to physically injure the subject as well as prevent them from calling 911.
Deputies also found that Downey physically struck an additional victim several times. It was found that the second victim had an active order of protection against Downey.
Downey was taken into custody and charged with criminal possession of a weapon, criminal contempt, attempted assault, criminal mischief, assault and harassment. Downey was arraigned and taken to the Chautauqua County Jail in lieu of bail. Downey will appear in Villenova Town Court at a later date.
