Motorcyclist dies in accident
CHERRY CREEK — A motorcyclist was killed in an accident Sunday night.
According to the Chautauqua County Sheriff’s Office, at about 6:45 p.m. deputies responded to Farrington Hollow Road in the town of Cherry Creek for a motor vehicle accident. After an investigation it is alleged that Jassen Sherman, 47, of Falconer failed to yield the right of way when backing out of a driveway, causing his vehicle to be struck by a motorcycle traveling north.
The operator of the motorcycle, who was only identified as a male, was transported to Brooks Memorial Hospital where he later succumbed to his injuries.
Sherman was charged with failure to yield the right of way when entering the roadway and is due back in the town of Cherry Creek Court at a later date.
