Evans announces road closures for holiday activities

EVANS — The Evans Town Board recently approved the town’s road closings and parking information for the 4th of July holiday. Councilman Michael Schraft introduced the measure, which was seconded by Councilman Jeanne Macko and further voted in favor for by Supervisor Mary Hosler.

In the official press release, the town stated that the Lake Erie Beach/Point Breeze area is expected to bring several thousand to the community to honor the birth of the United States.

The following streets will be closed July 3, beginning at 7 p.m. for the purpose of providing public safety to all event participants, residents and traffic:

¯ Kennedy Avenue and Eisenhower Road from Lake Shore Road to Quebec Street.

¯ Eastwood Avenue from Lake Shore to Northfield Street.

¯ Northfield from Eastwood to Kennedy.

¯ Garfield Avenue from Lake Shore to Oakland Street.

¯ Oakland from Garfield to Kennedy.

All streets will be re-opened at the conclusion of the event, and the board reminds everyone to follow all other public safety measures as set forth under the Code of the Town of Evans.

In addition, there will be no vehicles allowed in Lake Erie Beach Park beginning at 4 a.m., July 3 through 4 a.m., July 5.

The board also reminds everyone attending that it is illegal to park on sidewalks in the town of Evans.
