Dunkirk residents accused of narcotics sales

OBSERVER Staff Report

The Dunkirk Police Department arrested two city residents Thursday afternoon for alleged sales of narcotics.

Jose J. Ruiz, 32, and Rodney Clyburn, 39, were arrested at separate times without incident by the Dunkirk police. Each was charged with third-degree criminal sale of a controlled substance and third-degree criminal possession of a controlled substance. The men were transported to Chautauqua County Jail pending arraignment.

The Chautauqua County Sheriff’s Department announced the arrests in separate press releases. Both releases stated: “For the past several months members of the Dunkirk Police Department and members of The Southern Tier Regional Drug Task Force have been conducting an investigation into the sale and distribution of narcotics in the City of Dunkirk.” The investigations led to indictments of the two men by a Chautauqua County grand jury, the press releases added.
