LoGuidice Educational Center to host open house

FREDONIA — The community is invited to the LoGuidice Educational Center Open House at 9520 Fredonia-Stockton Road, Fredonia, on Thursday, Oct. 27, from 5:30-7 p.m. Speak with career and technical education instructors, tour classrooms, and witness job demonstrations. Food trucks and a chicken barbecue will be on-site, along with pumpkin carving and sale to benefit NTHS.

American Legion Post 434 to host dinner Oct. 28

BROCTON — On Oct. 28, the John W. Dill American Legion Post 434, Brocton, will host a dinner for the American Legion National Commander Vincent J. Troiola. Vincent J. “Jim” Troiola was elected national commander of the nation’s largest veteran service organization on Sept. 1, 2022, in Milwaukee during the American Legion’s 103rd national convention. Troiola served in the United States Navy and Navy Reserves from 1969 to 1974. He completed a tour aboard the USS Nitro with the Sixth Fleet. Troiola also served in many offices at every level of the American Legion and served as the Department of New York American Legion Commander from 2010-2011. He was elected National Vice Commander for the 2016-2017 year. “This is the first time in the history of Post 434 that the National Commander has visited our small town.,” said Post 434 Commander Mattie McIntyre. “It is an honor to welcome another veteran who has spent his entire life serving other veterans and our great nation.”
