Happy 90th birthday to Reverend Rodney Houck:

Born in Wind Gap, PA on Sept. 4, 1932, he graduated from Muhlenberg College in 1954, earning a BA in Liberal Arts.

That same year he enlisted in the US Air Force, and later attended Union Theological Seminary in New York City, where he earned a Master’s Degree in Theology.

As a student minister he served the Fort Schuyler Presbyterian Church in the Bronx, and met and married the former Joan Carlson. Rodney was pastor of several churches in New York and Rhode Island, as well as coordinator of an ecumenical ministry in Rochester, NY.

In 1982 Rodney became Pastor the First Presbyterian Church in Fredonia, NY, and served the congregation in that capacity for a period of ten years.

He and Joan have resided in the area for the past 40 years. The couple have four children, 10 grandchildren, and two great-grandchildren.
