Domestic incident leads to charges for Jamestown man
JAMESTOWN — At about 6:06 p.m. Saturday, officers of the Jamestown Police responded to a Stowe Street residence for a report of a physical domestic incident.
While enroute, officers were advised by dispatch that the male, identified as Ronald J. Maund, 21,was yelling in the background that he was going to come out of the house armed and was despondent. Officers on scene were able to quickly get the victim, her two children and another female out of the residence safely. Officers were able to get information from the victim that Ronald was in possession of a pellet gun, knife and was despondent.
Further investigation revealed that just prior to officers’ arrival Maund pinned the victim against a wall by her neck choking her making her almost lose consciousness, struck her and wasn’t allowing her to leave which all occurred in the
presence of their two children in common.
After negotiating with Maund for a period of time, officers were able to take Maund into custody and transport him to Jamestown City Jail. He was charged with second-degree strangulation, criminal obstruction of breathing or blood circulation, two counts of endangering the welfare of a child, second-degree unlawful imprisonment, second-degree obstructing governmental administration, aggravated family offense and resisting arrest.
He was being held pending arraignment by Jamestown City Court.
