BROCTON — Members of the Brocton Portland Seniors met at the John W Dill Post 434 in Brocton to celebrate their October meeting and all the festivities associated with it.
Vice President Jean Jaquith brought the organization to order, Tom DeJoe led the membership in their Pledge of Allegiance and Louis Klemann offered the grace over the chicken parmesan lunch followed by a moment of silence to revere those passed.
Jaquith introduced and welcomed guests: Sharon Buesink (brought by Edie Seekings) and Ed McClenathan (brought by Evonne Hennebery).
The committee for the Costumes and Funny Hats event was Ruth Neal, DeJoe with additional helpers: Rita Bennett, Jaquith, Olive Becker and Linda Riley. After lunch, Secretary Riley presented her report which was approved by Kate Cranston and Cathy Dingledy. Treasurer Becker then gave her report, which was approved, followed by community announcements. Jaquith then asked for volunteers to sit on the nominating committee. Robin Carr, DeJoe, Riley, Bennett and Bill Phillips agreed to meet in November to propose a slate of potential officers for 2023.
