Annemarie B. Roman, 79, of Dunkirk died Wednesday evening (April 19, 2023) at home following a brief illness.

She was born May 19, 1943 in Frankenhaag, Germany, the daughter of the late Georg and Margareta ( Hofer) Baumgartner.

A resident of Dunkirk since 1969, Annemarie had been employed at Walmart and as a Daycare Provider before her retirement. Her Legacy was her Children and grandchildren. She loved spending time with her family and playing cards with her friends. A loving caring soul to everyone.

She was a member of the First United Methodist Church in Dunkirk, East Town Fire Hall, and Eastern Stars.

Survivors include one daughter, Linda Hegner (Daniel O’Hara) of Dunkirk; one son, Andy (Sue) Canales of Dunkirk; five grandchildren, Brian Jasinski ( Sarah Sprague), Holly (Sean) Wielgasz, Randy Jasinski Jr., Ronald Hegner, and Josh (Felicia) Braymiller; eight great-grandchildren, Kaleigh, Eddie, Josh Adrianna, Andrew, Lauralie, Jayden, Victoria and Josh Jr.; and several nieces and nephews.

Besides her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Michael Roman, who died May 2, 1999.

Private funeral services will be held at the convenience of the family. Arrangements are by the McGraw-Kowal Funeral Home.
