Diana “Daisy” Sue (Pratt) O’Rourke

Diana “Daisy” Sue (Pratt) O’Rourke, age 45, of North East, passed away peacefully on Thursday June 22, 2023 surrounded by her family due to complications from type one diabetes.

She was born on September 2, 1977 in Erie, PA the daughter of William R. and Rebecca S. (Johnston) Pratt of North East.

She graduated from Ripley Central and Mercyhurst North East School of Nursing where she obtained her Medical Assistant Certification.

Diana loved spending time with her children, holidays, traveling, and visiting Presque Isle Beach.

Diana and her family would like to thank DianaStrong Warriors for all the support, love, and prayers for Diana throughout her journey to find a new kidney. The love and support from across the country should show the power of social media, love, and prayers. Diana’s warriors prayers were answered May 21, 2017 one week after being placed on the kidney transplant list, when a perfect match was found for Diana. Which is truly a miracle as the doctor listed her as 100% of not being able to find a match. So never doubt the power of prayer as Diana is living proof of what prayer can do. Diana’s wish is for all to check that mark on your driver’s license and continue to share and use Diana’s story to make known one can be a living kidney donor.

She was preceded in death by her maternal grandparents, Don and Fran Johnston; paternal grandparent, Glenn Pratt; infant, Sweet Pea; and cousin, Chris Nichols.

Diana is survived by her parents; children, Joshua O’Rourke of Silver Creek and Chloe Veith of Erie; sister, Rachel Pratt of Buffalo; brothers, Kyle Pratt of Cleveland Heights, OH and Derek Pratt of North East; paternal grandparent, Mary Pratt of Westfield, NY; aunts, Roxy Johnson of Ripley and Donna Wade of Ripley (whom was her kidney donor); also a close aunt, Cathy Demarco and several other aunts, uncles, and cousins.

Funeral services were entrusted to the William D. Elkin Funeral Home, 65 South Lake Street, North East. Interment was held at Quincy Cemetery.

In lieu of flowers memorials may be made to Diana’s children in care of the Diana O’Rourke Transplant Fund, c/o Donna M. Wade, Community Bank NA West Region, 70 East Main Street, Westfield, NY 14787. Please send condolences to elkinfh.com.
