Brocton rallies for volleyball win over Sherman

SHERMAN — Zoe Spiller had 16 kills, nine digs, two blocks and an ace as Brocton rallied for a 25-22, 19-25, 25-27, 25-21, 15-13 victory over Sherman in a marathon nonleague girls volleyball match Wednesday.

Grace Lundin had 18 digs, four aces and a kill; Evie Morrison had seven aces, 15 kills, 10 digs and a block; and Sha’nah Adams had 36 assists, two kills, nine digs and a block for the Bulldogs (3-0).

Carlie Gable had six kills and eight digs; Emmersen Crawford had five kills and five blocks; Caylee Pinzok had nine assists and two aces; Natalie Kranz had four aces and two kills; and Jayne Chambers had seven blocks and two aces for the Wildcats (0-4).

Sherman won the jayvee matchup.

SOUTH DAYTON — Bry Cornell had eight kills, five digs, an assist and an ace to lead Maple Grove past nonleague Pine Valley 25-22, 25-20, 25-16.

Zoey Foley had five kills, three assists, three aces and 15 digs while Mady Haglund had 16 assists and six digs for the Red Dragons (4-1).

Ava West had eight digs, four kills and three aces; Madil Robertson had nine digs, eight assists, a kill and two aces; and Cameron Rhinehart had 11 digs, three kills and an ace for the Panthers (0-5).

GATORS STAY UNBEATEN

ALLEGANY — Allegany-Limestone swept Salamanca 25-13, 25-8, 25-9 in nonleague action.

Acelynn Jacobs had 14 digs and Ayla Newark had four kills for the Warriors (1-3, 0-3).

The Gators improved to 3-0 overall and 3-0 in the league.
