The individual was being hired due to an increase of Freedom Of Information Requests received by the county, which appear to be generated through an Artificial Intelligence program. According to County Attorney Emily Woodard, while they did request $105,982 from the fund balance, the paralegal will cost $53,594. The remaining $52,388 is to correct a budgetary error in 2026.
