Paralegal hire In the June 22 article “County says AI creating overload of FOIL requests,” it stated that $105,982 was being requested from the county’s fund balance to hire an additional paralegal. The individual was being hired due to an increase of Freedom Of Information Requests received by the county, which appear to be generated through an Artificial Intelligence program. According to County Attorney Emily Woodard, while they did request $105,982 from the fund balance, the paralegal will cost $53,594. The remaining $52,388 is to correct a budgetary error in 2026.
