Forestville announces new hires

FORESTVILLE — The Forestville Central School District has three new teachers to join the Hornets’ nest. Krista Lennertz and Cassandra Essek were hired as teachers at the Elementary School, while Zachary Bills was hired as a Music Teacher for the district. All three appointments are probationary, each commencing Aug. 30, 2023 and ending Aug. 29, 2027, at which point the teachers may be offered tenured positions in the district, if the district so chooses. Several departments on scene of large fire

Several departments are on scene this afternoon of a large fire reported to be in a barn. The property is located on Route 83 west of South Dayton. Route 83, between Route 322 and Milestrip Road, in the town of Villenova was closed to traffic. More information will be released as it becomes available.

Quest Backpacking marks 34 years

On Saturday, April 29, Fredonia Middle School Backpacking Club launched the 34th annual Quest Backpacking Expedition with the one day hike. After completing eight weeks of classes, 65 eighth-graders from Fredonia, Cassadaga, and Silver Creek Middle Schools took part in the adventure. They were guided by 30 high school student leaders and 30 adults.
