Fredonia Shakespeare Club kicked off its 133rd year with the Club’s traditional Tea held Oct. 4 at the Edwards Waterhouse Inn. Twenty members and guests were in attendance.

Club President Joyce Haines welcomed members and guests and introduced the speaker, Dr. Eileen Lyon. The Club’s area of study for the 2018 – 2019 year is “The World Between WWI and WWII.” Dr. Lyon’s presentation on “The Rise of the Nazi Party” addressed the life of Hitler and his unexpected rise to power.

The Tea was hosted by incoming officers; Joyce Haines, President; Dr. Minda Rae Amiran, Vice-President; Leanna McMahon, Treasurer and Priscilla Bernatz, Secretary. Immediate Past President Joan Larson served tea and coffee. The Fredonia Shakespeare Club was established in 1885.
