Tuesday final day to pay sewer bills without penalty
Town of Hanover sewer customers are reminded that the last day to pay sewer bills without penalty is Tuesday, July 24. Late payments will be charged an additional 10 percent penalty fee. Payments can be made at the Town Clerk’s office in the Hanover Town Hall, Silver Creek.
Fredonia Food Pantry open hours today
On Saturday, July 21, The Fredonia Food Pantry will be open from 10 a.m. until noon at Fredonia Presbyterian Church at 219 Central Ave. The pantry serves the needs of residents of Fredonia, area code 14063, Pomfret, Sheridan, and Laona. All guests receive one or more bags of non-perishable food. Number of bags given out depends on family size. Donations of food may be made directly to the Rural Ministry.
Shipwreck Shivers today
Ever wonder what mysteries lie at the bottom of Chautauqua Lake? Join Sam Genco of Lake View Cemetery as he leads a journey through local rivers and lakes.
Genco has been diving in local waterways for over 30 years, and has received various SCUBA diving certifications, as well as a Merchant Marine 100-ton Captain’s License. The program starts off with an overview of the varied sights and challenges available to SCUBA divers in this area. Genco will also display photos and artifacts from his own dives in local waterways! Don’t miss out as he retells incidents both humorous and tragic that are a part of the colorful history of local waterways.
The event will take place on Saturday, July 21 at the Long Point State Park Marina parking lot. The program will begin at 10 a.m. and run approximately one hour. The program is free to the public.

American Legion Post 59 plans music night tonight
The American Legion Post 59, 156 E. Main St., Fredonia, will have music by local band Freeze, on Saturday, July 21 at the Post. The event is free for members/guests. Freeze will be performing from 8 to 11 p.m.
Lowriginal Mikey Strong Cancer Sucks Car Show planned for Sunday
The Lowriginal Mikey Strong Cancer Sucks Car Show will take place Sunday, July 22 starting at 1 p.m. at Ottoway Park, 8000 Route 5, Westfield.
The event helps to raise money to remember dear friend Michael Edwards III who was lost to cancer on July 16, 2016.
Proceeds will be used to purchase a Brick/Bench at Roswell. Admission to the event is with donation. Featured attractions include a judged car show, prizes, food and drinks, DJ, trophies, models and vendors.
