Portland man charged in assault
PORTLAND — A 46-year-old man is facing assault charges after an incident early Saturday evening.
Chautauqua County sheriff’s deputies report Dennis Campbell had allegedly assaulted and choked another person during a dispute around 5:40 p.m. Campbell was charged with third-degree assault and criminal obstruction of breathing or blood circulation.
Campbell was arraigned and committed to the Chautauqua County jail. Campbell will answer the charges in the Town of Portland court.
