Speaker to talk retail in small towns

FORESTVILLE — Over the last few years, Western New York has seen a trend of small box retail chains expanding into our historic towns, villages, and our once rural open spaces.

At 6:30 p.m. Monday, June 4 in The Forestville Meeting House, 37 Center St., Christiana Limniatis, director of Preservation Services for Preservation Buffalo Niagara will discuss how other communities have been impacted by this type of development. The session will also explore tools that communities can use to welcome economic development while also protecting their community character and historic resources. All are welcome!

Preservation Buffalo Niagara was established in 2008. Built on the more than 30-year history of our predecessor organizations, the Landmark Society of the Niagara Frontier and the Preservation Coalition of Erie County, the group is committed to bringing resources and results that ensure that our historic places thrive for generations to come.
