‘Be the Hero’ scholarship winners announced The winners of the “988 Be the Hero” scholarship include residents of Chautauqua County who are pursuing a degree in the medical or mental health field. On June 2, the board met to review the essays, and the following winners were chosen. Katherine “Kayde” Fitzgerald has been awarded the $1,000 scholarship to continue her coursework for clinical mental health counseling. Chautauqua County Fair tickets on sale

Tickets for the 2026 Chautauqua County Fair are now on sale in your community and online. The fair runs July 21 to 26 at the Chautauqua County Fairgrounds in Dunkirk. Gates open at 9 a.m., with the rides starting at 1 p.m., weather permitting and subject to state inspection approval. Online tickets can be purchased at www.chautauquacofair.org/admission for $11.50, or in person at the establishments listed below for $10.
