CHAUTAUQUA COUNTY SHERIFF’S OFFICE – SINCLAIRVILLE – A morning fire has been labeled incendiary. On Tuesday around 10 a.m. the Sinclairville Fire Department and several mutual aid fire departments responded to East Avenue in the village of Sinclairville for a residential structure fire. After extinguishing the fire, the Chautauqua County Fire Investigation Team was requested to the scene to conduct an origin and cause fire investigation. Two people charged over Fredonia bomb threat

Two people face charges in connection with a bomb threat that shook downtown Fredonia Thursday morning. Jayden Feaster, 20, and Melinda Jackson, 45, both reporting to be homeless, were charged with falsely reporting an incident. That's a Class D felony under state penal law. Fredonia Police Chief David Price reported the arrests in a Monday afternoon press release. The incident centered around a gas station on Main Street. Acting Erie County District Attorney Michael J. Keane has announced that 41-year-old Anthony Rydzewski of Angola pleaded guilty Monday before State Supreme Court Justice M. William Boller to one count of second-degree manslaughter, a Class C felony. The defendant pleaded guilty to the highest sustainable charge. According to Keane, on Feb. 28, at approximately 11:30 a.m., the defendant was recklessly driving at a high rate of speed northbound on Route 5 in the town of Hamburg when he caused a collision with another vehicle. BUFFALO – U.S. Attorney Trini E. Ross has announced that Brandi M. Whitford, 28, of Jamestown, who was convicted of maintaining a drug-involved premise, was sentenced to time served and three years’ probation by U.S. District Judge Lawrence J. Vilardo.
