CHAUTAUQUA – A Mayville woman has been arrested for allegedly leaving an animal in a hot vehicle. On Thursday at about 2:20 p.m. Sheriff's Deputies responded to Elmwood Road in the Town of Chautauqua for a report of a dog that was left in a vehicle. Upon arrival, deputies observed a dog that appeared to be very weak and dehydrated and was being attended to by residents of the community. Three juveniles will be facing charges after the theft of a motor vehicle this weekend. Dunkirk police reported Thursday, the youth allegedly stole the car from the 700 block of Deer Street around midnight Sunday. The juveniles and the car were located by the Erie County Sheriff's Department in the Town of Brant shortly after 2 a.m. The juveniles were identified and arraigned on charges in Erie County.
