Schumer voices concerns over measles in Erie County

As Erie County faces two cases of measles this month, the first cases in eight years, U.S. Sen. Pair charged in Saturday Busti shooting

A pair of Jamestown residents have been charged in a shooting that took place early Saturday in the town of Busti. At approximately 4 a.m., officers from the Lakewood-Busti Police Department were dispatched to Cummins Engine for a report of a gunshot victim. Upon arrival, officers located an adult female who had sustained a gunshot wound. Due to the severity of her injuries, she was transported and later airlifted to UPMC Hamot in Erie, Pa., for further medical treatment. Jamestown’s DRI application includes 24 projects totaling $30M-plus

JAMESTOWN — The Northwest Arena may get a state-supported facelift to make the building better suited for performances. The top-ranked project in the application in Jamestown’s Downtown Revitalization Initiative application to the state is a $2.3 million project at the arena that will use $900,000 in DRI funding with another $1.4 million raised from public and private funding. DMV administrator to get salary increase

MAYVILLE – A member of the Department of Motor Vehicles is getting a salary increase, but not all county officials support the move. During the Chautauqua County Legislature meeting, lawmakers approved a resolution to reallocate the salary grade for the motor vehicles administrator from grade 14 to grade 17 by a 12-5 vote. The step level of the administrator was not announced. According to the CSEA 6300 Salary Schedule, a Grade 14 Step 3 employee receives $25.91 an hour. Silver Creek Senior Citizens meet

SILVER CREEK – The Silver Creek Seniors met on June 9th with 15 in attendance. Some of the members chose to watch the historic Big Boy Steam Engine come through the area instead of attending the meeting. Those at the meeting got to hear it, but not see it when it went through Silver Creek. Secretary Lorrie Newman opened the meeting with all saying the Pledge of Allegiance and singing God Bless America.
