North Lake Fire Department Holds Egg Hunt

The North Lake Fire Department recently had their Easter Egg Hunt. About 13,000 eggs were filled and hidden at Lakeside Park for the local children to find. The children were into different age groups for a total of three egg hunts. The ages were 0-4, 5-8, 9 and up. Webbs donated chocolate bunnies for some lucky children. There was also a surprise visit from the Easter Bunny, who rode to Lakeside Park in the North Lake Fire Department Rescue Truck. Everyone had a great time and the weather cooperated that day also. Crews responded to a house fire late Sunday in the village of Westfield. The incident occurred at 43 Wood St. with crews from the village, town, Ripley, Brocton, North Lake and Portland responding.

Next Fredonia trustees meeting canceled

Back and forth the Fredonia government goes — when it meets again, nobody really knows. The latest from Village Hall as of Thursday is that the next scheduled Board of Trustees meeting is cancelled. It was supposed to be held Monday. The OBSERVER got a notice earlier in the week that the meeting would be moved to Tuesday. Then it got a second notice telling it to disregard the first one.
