Arthur P. Casella, 94, of Dunkirk, passed away Sunday evening, July 14, 2024 at Brooks Memorial Hospital. Born in Dunkirk on October 20, 1929 to the late Frank and Maria (Bertuzzi) Casella. Friends and family are welcome to attend a Mass of Christian Burial on Saturday, July 27, 2024 at 10 a.m. at St. Joseph’s Roman Catholic Church in Fredonia. Interment in St. Joseph’s Cemetery. Edward Arthur Begier, 77, of Stillwater, N.Y., passed away on July 18, 2024 following a brief illness. He was born to the late Arthur E. and Mary (Bialaszewski) Begier in Dunkirk, N.Y. on Aug. 9, 1946. Edward attended Cardinal Mindszenty High School, graduating at 16 and began serving in the U.S. Navy at 17. He was a proud submariner and a “plank holder” on the USS Simon Bolivar (SSBN-641) and also served in the New York Army National Guard.
