Nancy L. Whitford

Nancy L. (Barnes) Whitford, 93, of the Chautauqua Nursing and Rehab Center in Dunkirk, passed away Friday morning, Jan. 16, 2026. Born in Jamestown, NY on September 14, 1932, she was the wife of the late Richard L. Franklin and George Whitford and she was the daughter of the late Richard and Julian (Hager) Barnes. Funeral services will be held in private at the convenience of the family. A complete obituary will be published in this weekend’s edition of the Post Journal. Arrangements are by R. Virginia M. Seekings, 29, of Dunkirk, passed away peacefully on Thursday, Jan. 15, 2026 at Rochester General Hospital, following an extended illness. Born in Dunkirk on July 22, 1996, she was the daughter of Johanna Cortes. Funeral services will be held at a later date.
