Dunkirk Fredonia Lions name Lion of the Year
Recently Virginia Harper was recognized by the Dunkirk Fredonia Lions Club as Lion of the Year. Past president and current vice president Roy Marvin recognized Harper for her outstanding service to the club.
Virginia Harper is married to Shawn Harper and they are the proud parents of their daughter, Katrina Harper. Lion Harper is employed at ECMC in Buffalo and is active with the Friendship Baptist Church in Dunkirk. She has exemplified the Lions mission of serving by volunteering for Breakfast with Santa, the white cane drive and the Dunkirk Fredonia Lions Club stand at the Chautauqua Fair.
As a Lion, Harper demonstrates outstanding leadership, friendship, dedication and above all is an inspiration to volunteerism. Not only does Lion Virginia step up to help for all of these projects but she also volunteers for multiple shifts with her nieces, nephew and daughter. Whenever Lions get together, problems get smaller and communities get better. That’s because Lions help where help is needed – in local communities and around the world – with unmatched integrity and energy. Lions do whatever is needed to help their local communities. Everywhere they serve, they make friends – with children who need eyeglasses, during vision screening, with seniors who don’t have enough to eat, at Breakfast with Santa and through winter jacket donations. Harper serves as an inspiration to the Dunkirk Fredonia Club members and to the community through her dedication to service.
