James and Barbara Jean (Lawton) Dewey of Silver Creek celebrated their 65th wedding anniversary on Thanksgiving with their family and friends.

They were married in St. Alban’s Church in Silver Creek in a candlelight service by the Rev. Alexander Corti on Nov. 23, 1949.

Prior to her retirement, Mrs. Dewey was a bookkeeper for Ludeman’s in Silver Creek, as well as other businesses. Mr. Dewey is a Ford retiree.

The couple has one daughter, Virginia (Mark) Parsons and a granddaughter, Andrea.
