Opening reception for “Fredonia AIDS Quilt Poster Project,” 11 a.m. to 12:30 p.m., Reed Library atrium, SUNY Fredonia. Free, open to the public. Created by students in Dr. Jeffrey Iovannone’s AIDS Art & Activism course. Will include blank “signature panels for viewers to write their response or the name of someone not featured who died of AIDS. Professor and students will discuss the work.

Suicide Alertness for Everyone safeTALK, noon to 3 p.m., Lakewood Baptist Church, 150 Erie St., Lakewood. Free, presented by Chautauqua County Department of Mental Hygiene, Chautauqua Tapestry, The Community Alliance for Suicide Prevention, and Chautauqua Alcohol & Substance Abuse Council. Prepares anyone over age 15 to identify persons with thoughts of suicide and connect them to suicide first aid resources. Some professional continuing education credit hours possible.
