Fredonia Farmers Market

The Fredonia Farmers’ Market is held from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. every Saturday mid-May through October on Church Street, downtown Fredonia. It features a variety of vendors, with special events TBA. A number of vendors accept EBT, NYS Farmers Market Nutrition checks and WIC vegetables and fruits checks.

Lakeshore Humane Society Saturday open adoption hours

The Lakeshore Humane Society, 431 E. Chestnut St., Dunkirk, will hold open adoption hours from noon to 3 p.m. The public is welcome to see the dogs and cats in need of loving homes. Tours of the facility will not be given. Individual appointments are available throughout the week by leaving a message at 716 672-1991; press “1” for dogs or “2” for cats. One must be 21 years of age or older to adopt a pet. The Cat’s Meow Boutique will be open for purchases by the public. For details, call 716 672-1991.

Live at the Met in HD presents: Australian composer Brett Dean’s Hamlet

1891 Fredonia Opera House, 1 p.m. Tickets are $20 for general admission, $18 Opera House members, $10 students. The opera is sung in English with English subtitles. Masks are no longer required at Fredonia Opera House events, but all patrons are encouraged to wear masks while in the venue, and to socially distance when possible. Masks are available in the lobby and in the box office if needed.

Children ages 2 to 8 and their caregivers are invited to a free nature-based storytime at the Audubon Community Nature Center, 1600 Riverside Road, Jamestown from 12:30 to 1 p.m. Sunday admission is also free. Registration at 9 a.m., tee off at 10 a.m. Four-man scramble, special raffle, basket raffle, opportunities to win additional prizes. $125 for non-Shorewood members. Lunch on the course, steak dinner in the dining room following the round. Sponsored by AG Team.

Chautauqua Watershed Conservancy golf tournament
