Christmas in July

Blessed Mary Angela Parish hosts “Polka Buzz”

BMA Parish Social Center, 324 Townsend St., Dunkirk, 7 to 10 p.m. Reserved seating available for a $10 donation or limited standing room only available at the door. Music by the Buffalo-based polka band, “New Direction Band.” Polish sausage sandwiches, barbecued hamburgers, cheese and pepperoni boats, full cash bar available. ADULT function, must be 21 and over. Tickets limited to 200. Purchase at Big Rick’s One Stop. Wear red and white and be prepared to be televised on the “Polka Buzz” TV show with Ronnie D. and the gang. Christmas in July Jamestown events

Color Run featuring 1K and 5K distances, registration at 8 a.m. at the Northwest Arena, race kicks off at 9, ages 5 through 8 free. Pub curling tournament at the Northwest Arena at noon. $60 per team. Downtown shopping and decorations. The Christmas movie “Christmas Vacation” will be shown on the big screens of the National Comedy Center. Bring seating. After the movie, follow the Christmas parade to the Christmas Village at the North & South Basin on the Chadakoin Riverwalk for snacks, a Christmas carol serenade with the Harmony Express QuartetVictoria’s School of Dance and the Knight of the Enchanted Color Guard.

World Series of Wheels fund-raiser

Bergman Park, Baker Street, Jamestown, 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. Admission $3 per person over age 12. Judged car show, swap meet, kids’ bounce house, food and craft vendors, live music. Proceeds benefit the Babe Ruth World Series.

Tee Off for Kids with Cancer charity golf event

Vineyards Golf Course, four-person scramble $80 per golfer, includes golf, cart, hole prizes, lunch at the course, dinner at the First Ward Falcons and basket raffles. Proceeds benefit the Special Spaces Buffalo which gives bedroom makeovers for kids living with cancer. Contact the Vineyards golf course at 716 672-7888.

Blessed Mary Angela Holy Name Society can and bottle refund drive

St. Hedwig’s parking lot, Roberts Road, Dunkirk, 9 until noon. Holy Name members will unload them from the trunks of those donating.

Darwin R. Barker Library presents: Children’s and Young Adults book give-away

7 Day St, Fredonia, 9 a.m. to 12 p.m. Take home free books from this event. First come, first serve. At 11 a.m., the public is invited to the unveiling of the new Little Free Library.

Fredonia Farmers Market

The Fredonia Farmers’ Market is held from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. every Saturday mid-May through October on Church Street, downtown Fredonia. It features a variety of vendors, with special events TBA. A number of vendors accept EBT, NYS Farmers Market Nutrition checks and WIC vegetables and fruits checks.

Moore Park, center of Westfield, 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. Locally grown produce, meats, baked goods, food products, craft items and more. Prepared foods suitable for breakfast and lunch and hot and cold beverages are also available. The Westfield Flea, an antiques and vintage market, is on the other side of the park.
