Rotary Gold Rush set for Nov. 5

WESTFIELD – The Rotary Club of Westfield-Mayville is holding its annual “Gold Rush” event on Saturday, Nov. 5, starting at 5 p.m. at Eason Hall, 23 Elm St. in Westfield. Festivities for this casual, fun event begin with a Chiavetta’s barbecued chicken dinner from 5 to 6 p.m., and continue with a reverse draw raffle for cash prizes starting at 6 p.m. Top cash prizes are $100, $200 and the grand prize of $1,000! Also, there will be a 50/50 drawing for a chance to win more cash. Ticket holders do not need to be present to win.

Tickets, which are $30 each, may be purchased from any member of the Rotary Club of Westfield-Mayville, or by calling Cindy Harper, 269-9522.

Those wishing to attend are asked to get their tickets early, as there are only 300 tickets available and this annual event quickly sells out. Individuals often buy more than one ticket in order to increase the odds of having their lucky ticket randomly drawn from the barrel. Though some of the tickets that are drawn do not win cash prizes for their holders, excitement builds as fewer tickets are left in the barrel and the value of the cash prizes rises!

Those attending this enjoyable evening are invited to bring their own beverages and snacks to enjoy during the draw of raffle tickets. Free coffee, tea, soft drinks, water and beer (for those of ages 21 and older) are available.

Proceeds from this fundraiser support the Rotary Club of Westfield-Mayville’s various service activities, such as community projects, youth services and scholarships, and donations to various local organizations and area food pantries.

Those with questions about this event may contact Adele Harrington, Gold Rush chair, 581-0265.
