December Computer Classes offered at the Dunkirk Public Library

The Dunkirk Public Library, 536 Central Ave., has planned a number of computer classes for December.

The December schedule includes:

Basic Computers: Dec. 5, 9, 12, 16. All sessions will run 11:30 a.m. to 1 p.m.

I-Pad Basics: Dec. 7 from 2 to 4 p.m.

Making Address Labels: Dec. 13  and Dec. 15, part 1 and part 2. Both sessions will be from 1 to 2 p.m.

Social Media during the Holiday Season: Dec. 20 from 2 to 4 p.m.

All of these classes are offered at the library with an instructor in the computer lab. Registration is required for all classes. Contact the library at 366-2511.

Fredonia elementary music programs for December

The Fredonia Elementary Music Program will be holding its annual Winter Concert on Tuesday, Dec. 6 at 9:30 a.m. and 7 p.m. in the Fredonia Central Schools District Auditorium. The audience will hear musical selections performed by the third grade, fourth grade, and fourth grade Select Chorus members.

There will be an additional concert performed by the second grade chorus students on Friday, Dec. 9 at 1:30 p.m. in the FCSD Auditorium featuring first grade chorus students. Admission is free and open to the public.

Spoons ‘N Spools craft group Christmas party set

The Spoons ‘N Spools craft group will hold its annual Christmas party on Tuesday, Dec. 6 at 6 p.m. at The White Village, 5362 W. Lake Road, Dunkirk. Dolores Fairbanks and Martha Lukasik are in charge of the arrangements. Members are reminded there will be a gift exchange.

Valley Historical Society to meet   Dec. 6

STOCKTON — The Valley Historical Society will hold the annual Christmas meeting on Tuesday, Dec. 6 at the South Stockton Wayside Chapel on Route 380. There will be a potluck dinner starting at 6 p.m. Attendees are asked to bring a dish of food to pass and their own table service. All interested persons are invited to attend, even if not a member.

After the business meeting, members will share research projects that have been worked on this year. Election of officers for 2017 will also take place at the meeting.

Fredonia Place    presents: “Giving Back to Our Community Day”

“Giving Back to Our Community Day” will take place at Fredonia Place, 50 Howard St. The event is  open to the public and will be held Wednesday,  Dec. 7 from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. in the Bistro/Lobby area and includes the following events throughout the day: a toy drive all day – residents, family and staff can bring a toy to be donated to a child in need; an American Red Cross Blood Drive: all day and open to the public; visits with Santa from 1  to 3 p.m.

There will be various vendors all day so that guests can start their Christmas shopping! There will also be a turkey raffle and much more.
