Post 1017 Auxiliary will meet March 3

The Auxiliary of the John T. Murray Post 1017 recently met with Pat Rabb, president, presiding. The opening prayer was led by Chaplain Becky Addington.

The treasurer’s report was read by Pat Kibbe and filed, subject to audit. Robin Richmond, secretary, read the secretary’s report, which was approved. Correspondence was read.

Discussion took place about the upcoming Easter meat raffle on Friday, March 2. Meats to be raffled include hams, Polish and Italian sausage and strip steaks. Members are asked to bring a $5 gift for the second pull, and sandwiches and munchies. The meat raffle will start at 7. Workers are needed. This is open to the public.

The spring conference was discussed and Rabb, Kibbe and Richmond will be attending March 9 to 11 in Syracuse. It was also stated that the following will be needed for conference for veterans and family support: a basket for a picnic. Members are asked to bring an item for the basket to the next meeting. Keep in mind other things like cans of baked beans, ketchup, mustard, relish etc.

The Auxiliary is still selling luminary bags, which will be available at the meat raffle for a donation of $5. These will be displayed at the June convention.

For ways and means, members are to bring a patriotic wreath to be raffled off. Richmond stated that she has already started one.

Also, tickets are on sale for a vacation for four in Orlando, Florida. The trip includes a one week’s stay at the Hilton Grand Vacation Club Tuscany in Orlando, including air fare, accommodations, including a suite for a family of four with two king size beds, two double beds, bath, living room and kitchen. This vacation has no cash value. Call Rabb if interested. Tickets will be available at the meat raffle or call 341-1328. Members also need $10 worth of lottery tickets for the conference. If any member is able to help with the above, bring the donation to the next meeting on March 3 or to the meat raffle.
