Brocton Preceptor Beta Epsilon Chapter of Beta Sigma Phi holds meeting

The ladies of the Brocton Preceptor Beta Epsilon Chapter of Beta Sigma Phi enjoyed Beginning Day at the Cassadaga Country Club on Aug. 28 with a lovely dinner and a delicious carrot cake served by Nancy Furman following a brief meeting. Members enjoyed catching up after their summer break and discussed plans for the coming year.

On Tuesday, Sept. 11, the ladies met at the Brocton Tri Church with President Gina Hesslink serving as hostess for the evening. A moment of silence was held in memory of the many lost on this day 17 years ago.

President Hesslink reported that she has just received a letter from Beta Sigma Phi International that we have received a Three Star Rating for our 2017 -2018 Year.

The group was happy to see the return of member, Roxanne Fisk, who spent her summer recovering from a knee replacement. She thanked her sisters for the beautiful yellow rose, meals, cards and phone calls which meant so much to her during her “summer of recuperation.”

The Social Committee noted that 21 Brix was celebrating their 7th Anniversary on Saturday, Sept. 15 from 1 to 5 with food, games and music. Several members were planning to attend. A number of ideas were presented for upcoming social events and the Chapter is looking forward to a busy year.

The Service Committee will be planting some mums at the Brocton Arch Park this fall. The flowers they planted and nurtured all summer are still colorful and quite a beautiful sight while traveling along Route 20 across from the Village Hall.
