‘Bingo’ moves to the Fireside
Week four of “Parking Lot Bingo” from the Fredonia Community Chamber of Commerce is headed to the Fireside Restaurant parking lot.
This is part of the FCCC’s continuing effort to support businesses affected by the shutdowns and restrictions brought on by the pandemic. The chamber will continue this every Thursday night throughout the area. This Thursday, the Chamber will be at the Fireside Restaurant lot located at 5377 West Lake Road in Dunkirk. This will directly support both The Fireside and The White Village.
Chamber Project Chair and member of the Board of Directors Melissa Sorci Taft said, “We have had a lot of fun with this. The participation by both the local residents and the restaurants has been fantastic. We have been told the restaurants are seeing a 25% to 40% increase in business on our day”
Chamber secretary Dan Siracuse continued “I love that this has brought the community together as well as helped our local restaurants. We have begun to mix in some trivia to add to the fun. This is truly a family friendly, all age event. Please join us any Thursday evening you are able”
Bingo games start at 5:30 p.m. and usually run until 7 p.m. There is no cost for participation to play and we encourage you to frequent one of the eating establishments for either in restaurant dining or take out.
You can come for a game or two or stay the whole time. Prizes for both young and old are awarded to our winners, including some trivia winners as questions are asked throughout the evening. Some folks just open the window and play while families have opened their tailgates and/or brought lawn chairs. Please take advantage of the wonderful weather and the opportunity to support a few local businesses, as well as the opportunity to interact with others after some distancing and quarantine. All safe practices (masks, hand sanitizer, distancing as possible) are followed at this event.
This will be our fourth week of “Parking lot Bingo” following last week’s large turnout at the West Municipal lot. Both the participants and the restaurants gave the event positive reviews. We hope to continue both the social and business support throughout the summer. If you have questions please call Fredonia Community Chamber of Commerce President Michelle Joy at 785-5934.
