Scholarships, donations set by women’s group

The Chadwick Bay Chapter held its July installation of officers at Shorewood Country Club recently.

Sue Mager and Linda Przepasniak, past state presidents for New York State Women Inc., were the installing officers. Donnie Hover was installed as president, Christine Storer as first vice president, Terri Pacos as second vice president, Donna Comstock as recording secretary, Debbie Dillenburg as treasurer, and Marianne Serio as corresponding secretary.

Emily Clapp and Tiffany Yerico received the chapter’s scholarships.

Emily will graduate from the State University at Fredonia in the spring of 2021 with a bachelor’s degree in education. Tiffany will graduate from Jamestown Community College in 2021 as a registered nurse.

During the pandemic, the chapter continued local donations to the Dunkirk Library, Meals on Wheels, Chautauqua Nursing and Rehabilitation Services, Rural Ministries (food bank) and Chautauqua County Crisis Relief Fund.

The chapter’s getaway weekend was held at the new Chautauqua Harbor Hotel in Celoron. This venue was decorated with pictures of the amusement park that was previously located on the property. Pictures of Lucille Ball and Desi Arnaz also adorned the hallway walls. The committee was Christine Storer, Donna Comstock, Brenda Lewis, Suzanne Lawrie and Debbie Dillenburg.

The New York State Women Inc., through the Grace Legrende Foundation, provides endowments to women completing their masters and or their doctorate degrees.
