Persia to talk Christmas fest

PERSIA — The town of Persia will be having a workshop to discuss the town’s participation in the annual Christmas in Gowanda festivities on Dec. 5. The meeting will be from 6 to 7 p.m. before our regularly scheduled town board meeting.

Fredonia announces leaf pick-up plans

The fillage of Fredonia is picking up loose and bagged leaves daily. However, there is no set schedule as crews will be collecting leaves in each section.

Additionally, residents may drop leaves off at the Streets Department in the designated area. No brush will be picked up or accepted at the Streets Department.

St. John’s plans November meal orders

The holidays will be very different this year. If the thought of foregoing a traditional Thanksgiving meal has got you down, we may be able to offer you an alternative.

St. John’s UCC will be preparing a traditional Thanksgiving dinner on Saturday, Nov. 21. Dinner will include turkey, dressing, mashed potatoes, gravy, squash, cranberry sauce, dinner roll and, of course, pumpkin pie or apple pie for dessert. If you would like to order one or more dinners, it would permit you to have a small dinner at your home, for yourself or with a few close friends or relatives. Tickets are $11 each and must be preordered by today. Meals may be picked up in the church parking lot from 4:30 to 6 on Saturday, Nov. 21.

Tickets may be ordered by calling the church office at 366-0710. We accept cash or checks. Tickets will be mailed to those purchasing a ticket(s).
