Party seeks candidates, support

The Working Families Party is leading the fight for social, racial, and economic justice in New York state. Monthly breakfast set for Sunday

Forest Lodge 166 F&AM will be holding its monthly Sunday Family Breakfast from 8:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. Sunday. Breakfast will consist of eggs made to order, Pancakes or French Toast, Sausages, Fruit Cocktail, Toast, Juice, Milk, Coffee and Tea. Adults and teenagers 13 and up $9, Children 6-12 $5, Kids 5 and under are free.

Public is welcome and cordially invited to attend. Forest Lodge is located at 321 E. Main St., Fredonia.

During this breakfast, we will be continuing to host a Veterans Hygiene Drive this coming Sunday, for Meridian Sun Demolay. Monetary donations, as well as Hygiene and personal care items such as toothbrushes, toothpaste, shampoo, body wash, shaving supplies, deodorant, etc, will be collected for Veteran’s One Stop and VALOR WNY, which operate the Veterans Food Drive in Tonawanda, may be also made. Please make checks payable to Meridian Sun Demolay, with “Veterans Service Project” in the memo line.

Parish planning flea market, barbecue

The Blessed Mary Angela Holy Name Society would like to invite you to our upcoming indoor Flea Market and Chicken BBQ. The Flea Market will be Friday Jan. 21 and Saturday Jan. 22 from 9 a.m. to noon each day.

The flea market will conclude on Friday, Jan. 28 and Saturday, Jan. 29 again from 9 a.m. to noon. There will be a special sale day on Wednesday Jan. 26, we invite you to shop from 4 to 6 p.m. and take home a Weidner’s Chicken BBQ with you. We will follow all state COVID protocols regarding the wearing of masks and sanitizer will be available.

On Wednesday Jan. 26, 2022 the Holy Name Society will serve a Weidner’s Chicken BBQ from 4 pm to 6 pm. This will be a drive thru dinner only. The menu will have 1/2 bbq chicken, mashed potatoes, gravy, green beans, roll and butter with a cookie for dessert.

Tickets are available after Sunday masses or at Big Rick’s on Lake Shore Drive East and the 4th Ward Deli on Doughty Street. Donation is still only $12 with all proceeds going to support the parish. For more details on both events watch for the ads in the OBSERVER, there are only a limited number of bbq tickets available so don’t miss out, purchase your tickets now.

Fredonia Food Pantry open Saturday

On Saturday, the Fredonia Food Pantry will be open from 10 a.m. to noon at Fredonia Presbyterian Church at 219 Central Ave. The pantry serves the needs of residents of Fredonia, area code 14063, Pomfret, Sheridan, and Laona. All guests receive one or more bags of non-perishable food. Number of bags given out depends on family size.
