Rick Syper is running for Mayor of Mayville.

Syper has been a registered Republican since the age of 18 and is a lifelong resident of Mayville. The Syper family has been in business in the village for more than 90 years, while Syper has also served more than 20 years on the Mayville Village Board including time as deputy mayor.

Syper is a life member of the Mayville Fire Department, having served in the capacity of president for three years and is the owner and president of locally owned R&R Property Services and Landscaping.

“I am ready to see our village and the county seat come to life once again,” Syper said. “I look forward to our community coming together and making Mayville a desired place to visit and live.”

He is a member of the Town of Chautauqua Zoning Board, and he is the Chautauqua Lake Snowmobile Club Chairman. He lists his hobbies and interests as “work, basketball and vintage sleds (snowmobiles).” He and his partner Lynette Gloss have three children; Katherine Syper, Victoria Syper and Richard Syper.
