Lakeshore Humane Society Saturday open adoption hours
The Lakeshore Humane Society, 431 E. Chestnut St., Dunkirk, will hold open adoption hours from noon to 3 p.m. The public is welcome to see the dogs and cats in need of loving homes. Tours of the facility will not be given. Individual appointments are available throughout the week by leaving a message at 716 672-1991; press “1” for dogs or “2” for cats. Lakeshore Humane Society annual Pat McGee Dog Walk, Weidner’s chicken barbecue
Lakeshore Humane Society Adoption Center, 431 Chestnut St., Dunkirk. Dog walk check-in 10 a.m., walk begins at 10:30 a.m. $22 includes dog walk t-shirt, goodie bag. Participants can dress-up their dog for this costume walk and contest (but all dogs are welcome to participate, even if not in costume)! There will also be agility course challenges and an opportunity to for participants to paint with their dogs. Each dog must have proper I.D. on a collar or be microchipped, be on a non-retractable leash at all times, and have an up-to-date rabies vaccination certificate to present at check-in. Chicken barbecue from noon to 3 p.m. through drive-thru pick-up. Half chicken, cole slaw, buttered potatoes, roll. $15.
