WESTFIELD — The Patterson Library, 40 S. Portage St., offers a variety of free events and programs. Registration is required unless stated otherwise.Call 716 326-2154 or visit during open hours.
Adult programs: monthly book clubs.Call to confirm dates; no registration is necessary. Mystery Book Club the third Wednesday at 4 p.m.; Best Sellers Book Club the first Tuesday of each month at 6:30 p.m. and the new Book Talk on the second Thursday of each month at 4 p.m.
Cozy Crafters meets weekly Tuesdays from 1 to 3 p.m. Work on any handcraft; no registration required.
Nov. 3 from noon to 2 p.m. Return of Culinary Creations (must pre-register). Pick a recipe (from the cookbook on display) to make and share with this monthly group of gourmands.
This month’s book: “From Mama’s Table to Mine” by Bobby Deen. Nov. 6 at 6:30 p.m.; “Sacred Selections” – enjoy an evening of beautiful music. Nov 7 from 5 to 7 p.m.: Octagon Gallery Opening: “The Men of NPAA.” Nov 13 at 5:30 p.m. SUNY Fredonia Music Students.
Nov. 18 at 3 p.m., Cooking with Chef Jim (must pre-register). Chef Jim from Wanderlust is back. This month is “3rd Course: Talking Turkey – Thanksgiving Sides and Such:” Nov. 18 at 5:30 p.m. – Book presentation with Jan Woods: “Miracles on Maple Hill” and “Maple Syrup Recipes from Hurry Hill Maple Farm.”
No registration is necessary for any of the following events taking place in the Children’s Area: Zoom Room: Thursdays at 10:15 a.m. for ages 0 to 3 years; Giggle & Grow Storytime: Fridays at 10:30 a.m., for ages 3 to 5 and their families; LEGO Club: Saturdays 10:30 to 11:30 a.m. Nov. 21 at 4 p.m.: Movie Night: “How the Grinch Stole Christmas”; Nov. 22 10:30 a.m. to 2 p.m. Christmas fun, including cookie decorating.
