JAMESTOWN – The Robert H. Jackson Center is pleased to announce that Center co-founder and board member Gregory L. Peterson will interview the Rev. Dr. Peter Brenner at the 2013 Scandinavian Folk Festival in Gerry on Saturday at 3 p.m. Dr. Brenner will also appear as a featured lecturer at 2 p.m. on Sunday.

Dr. Brenner is the author of “Behind the Smile: Orphaned by Hitler’s Madness,” a poignant account of his journey to uncover the mysteries of his hidden past. Brenner was born during the winter of 1944 to an unwed, frightened 17-year-old Norwegian girl on the war-torn soil of Germany. Unknowingly, she was part of Himmler’s Lebensborn Program to cultivate an Aryan race. Five years and three orphanages later, Brenner was brought to America and adopted by an Air Force chaplain and his wife. His unfolding story is both revealing and touching.

Dr. Brenner holds a master of divinity degree from Hartford Seminary and a doctor of ministry from Chicago Theological Seminary. He is retired from his careers as a congregational minister and a commander in the US Navy.

Peterson is a partner at Phillips Lytle LLP. He received his Juris Doctor in 1976 from Dickinson School of Law and Bachelor of Arts from Allegheny College. He is admitted to the U.S. Supreme Court, American Bar Association, New York State Bar Association, Pennsylvania Bar Association, Jamestown Bar Association and the Bar Association of Northern Chautauqua County.
