Bigfoot Expo & Movie Night this weekend
DEWITTVILLE – The Chautauqua Lake Bigfoot Movie Night will take place Friday from 6 to 8:30 p.m. at Camp Onyahsa. Doors open at 5 p.m.
Two bigfoot documentaries, “I’ve Seen Bigfoot” and “Mountain Devil The Search for Frank Peterson” will be shown. “I’ve Seen Bigfoot” is a documentary of eyewitnesses to bigfoot sightings here in Chautau-qua County, western New York, Pennsylvania and around the country and was written and produced by Joseph Glarner, Mark Robinault and Peter Wiemer. “Mountain Devil The Search for Frank Peterson” was written and produced by Ryan Cavalline.
The Chautauqua Lake Bigfoot Expo will be held Saturday from 11 a.m. until 7 p.m. at Camp Onyahsa. Doors open at 10 a.m. This year’s speakers include Ken Gerhard, a widely recognized cryptozoologist and field investigator for The Center for Fortean Zoology as well as a fellow of the Pangea Institute and consultant for several anomalous research organizations.
In addition to co-hosting the History Channel TV series “Missing in Alaska,” Gerhard has appeared in three episodes of the series “Monster Quest” and is featured in the History Channel special “The Real Wolfman,” as well as “Legend Hunters” (Travel Channel), “Unexplained Files” (Science Channel), “Paranatural” (National Geographic), “Weird or What? with William Shatner” (Syfy), “Ancient Aliens” (History Channel), “Monsters and Mysteries in America” (Animal Planet), “Ultimate Encounters” (Tru TV), “True Supernatural” (Destination America), “Monster Project” (Nat Geo Wild) and “Shipping Wars” (A&E).
Paul Mateja has been actively involved with bigfoot/sasquatch research since 2004 and has personally investigated over 200 reports. He has attended or organized BFRO expeditions in New Mexico, New York, Pennsylvania, Ohio, Tennessee and West Virginia. He currently concentrates his investigations to western New York state and western and north-central Pennsylvania.
Mateja is a network administrator and systems analyst/programmer for the Catholic Diocese of Buffalo. In addition, he, wife Teresa, and son David own and operate a small certified-organic farm in western New York.
These speakers as well as others and a “Town Hall Meeting” done in the middle of the day allowing people to speak about their bigfoot sightings or encounters is sure to educate, enlighten and entertain the attendees.
