Fredonia native to make an appearance during reunion

Author returns home

Books by Dr. Rayna M. Gangi

Dr. Rayna M. Gangi, author of more than 15 books in multiple genres, will return to Fredonia Thursday, Aug. 2, for her 50th class reunion from Fredonia High School. Dr. Gangis newest book, “Humanity, An American Memoir,” tells her story, and chronicles the lives of family, friends, and local establishments.

“Her story is fascinating and written as a novel rather than a first-person narrative. It covers three volumes,” Elsa Claverie says,” and it’s a page-turner from start to finish. From the cemetery on Main Street, to her Seneca grandmothers, her time in the Marines during Viet Nam, and her growth into a holistic educator, we delve into a character who is unlike any other. In the end, we feel that her story is also ours, and we still want to read more.”

Her other books include “Forget the Cures, Find the Cause,” holistic health primers written in prose and “America, It Was Just an Idea,” a story that chronicles a journey into politics from the JFK assassination to the present. She also authored children’s books, photographic tributes to nature that teach children about their surroundings through rhymed prose, with many of the photos author originals.

“I’ve lived a varied life full of surprises,” Gangi says. “The agony and extasy of love found and lost, and journeys to my soul that have brought me full circle. My memoir is written for every American who has endured and embraced life in America.”

“Bookstores are scarce in the area,” says Claverie, her editor and publicist, “but she will be presenting in Buffalo as she finishes off her week in the area.”

Books are available at Amazon, Barnes and Noble, and on Audio.
