Chautauqua Hospice & Palliative Care President and CEO Shauna Anderson was recently presented with the “Award of Harmony” by the Jamestown Harmony Express in appreciation for her service to the community. The presentation was made by the Group during their 32nd Annual Barbershop Harmony Show “Jukebox Saturday Night” on Oct. 27.

The Award of Harmony is presented each year to a local citizen who has “truly given of themselves to make our world a place of harmony.” Recipients are honored for their significant contributions and concern for others.

“With this recognition, Shauna takes her place with many other distinguished past recipients of this award,” said Harmony Express singer and Chapter President, George Jarrell. “She is working hard to make this community a better place and we’re delighted she will bear the honor of the Award of Harmony this year.”

Anderson holds a Master of Science in community health nursing from D’Youville College and a Bachelor of Science in Nursing from The College of Brockport. She has served as a registered nurse for 40 years in the homecare, hospice and palliative care fields. Prior to her current role as CEO and President of Chautauqua Hospice & Palliative Care, she was Vice President of Clinical Services and R.N. Case Manager.

“I deeply appreciate this award,” said Anderson. “It highlights the message and values of the work we do at Chautauqua Hospice & Palliative Care.”

Ms. Anderson has been a member of various other community organizations including Zonta, a non-profit international organization dedicated to empowering women through community service and advocacy. She and her husband, Dan, enjoy raising alpacas on their farm, “Alpacaville,” where they offer tours to children and others with special needs.
