Rustic Ramblers to perform in Mayville

The Thursday performance of the Mayville/Chautauqua Community Chamber of Commerce’s 2019 Entertainment in the Park Summer Performance Series will feature the traditional country sound of the band ‘Rustic Ramblers’. These free concert series performances are taking place at a new location this year, the Floating Stage (courtesy of the Chautauqua Lake Pops), located on the lake behind the Mayville Depot in the village of Mayville (16 Water St., across from the Lakeview Hotel), from 6:30 to 8:30 p.m.

The Rustic Ramblers truly appreciate the traditional country music that America has always loved. Members of the band are Howard Buck, from Fredonia on lead guitar and lead and harmony vocals; Jimmy “Frito” Lanphere, from Portland on electric bass and lead and harmony vocals; Dave Bailey, from Hartfield on drums and lead and harmony vocals; and Gene Hilts from West Valley on electric pedal steel guitar. The group has over 200 years combined experience in performing traditional country music. They performed at our concert series last year and we’re pleased to have them come back again this year.

The Entertainment in the Park Summer Performance Series is provided at no cost to the public through the generous sponsorship and support by the town of Chautauqua and village of Mayville. In case of rain, the performance will take place at the Carlson Community Center located at Lakeside Park, Mayville. While seating is provided for both inside and outside concerts, it is recommended that those attending the performances bring along their own seating just in case, so all have a seat. A 50/50 drawing will be held at all of the musical concerts this summer, with the winner announced just before the end of each performance. The Maple Springs Fire Department will be offering barbecue dinners (hamburgers, etc.) for sale at the concerts for the benefit of their fire department. The Mayville Fire Department will also offer popcorn and water on a donation basis during the concerts benefiting their fire department. Your support of these two worthwhile organizations is greatly appreciated.

For more information on this long-held concert series or the Mayville-Chautauqua area, contact the Mayville/Chautauqua Community Chamber of Commerce, organizers of this concert series, at (716) 753-3113. Plan on coming Thursday evening, Aug. 22 for a trip down memory lane of wonderful traditional and classic country music.
